1. Those weren't my ideas, I know the boundaries of what A net will do and what they won't do and (scrolling back, reading my post) you'll see that I fully agree with your number 1, and that we should'nt have World of Guildcraft.

2. I can't help server space problems, unless you make an announcement of this(showing that it is a serious matter) people will continue to make speculation threads, pointless threads and threads we've seen before. There is also the matter of forum trolls, insulters, witty one liner posts and flamebait threads. Maybe you all should start a forum cleaning process.

3. The fact that A net is actually browsing the forums and has Gaile Gray and a few other team members posting is a hell of a step beyond other game companies, and shows a high level of care for their customers. So just because they might not comment, doesn't mean they didn't read these ideas. Because lo and behold, one of the new professions shared a lot in common with an idea posted on a forum.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one more hero of every profesion, even tho that would be a waste, having three rangers at once would only make TOO MAANY interupts

As others have mentioned there have already been “snowy” and “jungle” zones in prior titles, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still exciting things the Anet team could do with those themes. Take for example other types of rain forests, like those found in southeast Alaska and British Columbia, where frigid ran and evergreens replace the sweltering jungle canopy. The Ecology of these areas alone offers limitless possibilities in wildlife, monsters, and allies. Personally I’d love to have a walrus or a giant mink as a pet for my ranger. The Tlingit and other native tribes of the area offer an extensive culture to draw from for armor/architecture/NPC design. Anyone who’s ever read, ‘The Strangest Story Ever Told’ could tell you that the Kooshdakhaa* would make an excellent bases for new monsters.

The slowly retreating glaciers of these areas would make an excellent theme in itself, with huge “lost cities” slowly being revealed as the ice retreats; a giant sprawling labyrinth weaving throughout the ice with scattered little outposts and no “single” path through sounds very appealing to me. Earlier someone jokingly mentioned Eskimos, why not? Out at the edge of the world, in a place so cold and inhospitable that no one else will go there; imagine, if they were guarding something, the last remaining people of a lost civilization, waiting for the end of the ice age that nearly destroyed their civilization – waiting to awaken something, deep under the ice. Plus, I don’t care what anyone else says, these snow goggles rock. Anyways, those are just a couple environment ideas I think would be cool.

Could this be the possible place of the next nation???????????? Looking for more stuff. I also found stuff saying Kormir, since she abosorbed Abaddons power she is now considered the God of Truth. Also, Menzies, balthazars HALF BROTHER is a bad bad boy. Another battle against a god?

Deldrimor is the name of the kingdom of Dwarves established over the Shiverpeak Mountains. It shares borders with Ascalon to the east and Kryta to the west. Since the beginning of the history of the Dwarves in Tyria, they have been united under the kingdom of Deldrimor. The capital of the kingdom is Thunderhead Keep and the current king is King Jalis Ironhammer.

Deldrimor as a nation is friendly to humans and other intelligent races. Trade relations and political alliances have existed between the dwarven race and the human race for centuries. Those ties remain, though of late, less hospitable Dwarves who resent humans (and all non-Dwarven races) have formed a guild named the Stone Summit and have displayed their opposition to the Deldrimor Dwarves through acts of violence. King Jalis is trying to avoid a civil war, but is also making a firm stand for his people against these usurpers.

The Dwarves of Deldrimor are master smiths and miners and their forges make the finest armors in Tyria.

Some believe that the Deldrimor Dwarves once inahabited Cantha. Artifacts believed to be of Dwarven origin have been found in the jade mines in the solidified Jade Sea. Scholars in Cantha believe that the Aurios Mines were first dug by the Deldrimor Dwarves.

I personally think we are all getting overexcited much too early. I know that the expected every-six-months release timetable is treated like gospel among fans, but let's face it: we don't know ANYTHING about Chapter 4.

This seems highly contrary to Factions and Nightfall, where interviews, small previews, and other pre-release hype was beginning to leak much earlier. The official GW press release announcing Nightfall was over 3 months before launch; previews were being given to 1UP.com back in May. For Factions, the timeline was even earlier - the Factions PvP weekend was four months ahead of time.

So where is our info about Chapter 4? No one knows a theme, how it will tie into the first 3 chapters (or whether it will at all), or even any educated guesses about new features. ArenaNet is silent. Gaile gives cute noncommittal answers to keep our minds running amok, but she's not giving us much to chew on, either. They're either running a huge marketing ploy, or they aren't anywhere close to being ready for an announcement. Maybe even a combination of both.

My sincerest wish is that ArenaNet is spending the extra time making the new story arc even better than the original. However, I can't help but be annoyed and disgusted that they have given the fans nothing at all. It isn't their responsibility to keep us informed on their progress but perhaps I've just come to expect their standard of fan-company interactions. Been spoiled by it, maybe.

Point is, I seriously doubt we should be expecting Chapter 4 for a late April release like Prophecies or Factions, especially not if we are to be kept in the dark much longer. We might want to hold off on these hopes-and-dreams posts for a while yet - or at least keep the speculation over in Sardelac Sanitarium.

The WoW thing comes up in every thread about new chapters, but GW can't ever really be a WoW type game unless the structure is completely overhauled. have any of you that say these suggestions would turn GW into WoW, every played WoW?

GW is instanced, which means no camping, no raiding, no overfarmed areas. GW doesn't use boosters, healing or any other sort of items to regain health, energy, cure conditions or attribute statuses. GW has an 8 skill limit, doesn't contain uber leet weapons or allow for raising the level cap every expansion. GW has fast travel and when you do die you don't have to run off to ressurect your fallen body. Not to mention the RL financial differences.

Adding mounts wouldn't imbalance anything unless only certain professions could use them, but really, what would be the point? I for sure wouldn't want to trade fast travel for mounts, railroads or boat rides. There may be a way to add mounts as battle bonuses, think taking wurms into AB's or HA, etc. That might be interesting. Honestly if they add a feature like mounts, there are many way to make them balanced additions. I personally don't want to see guns or increased mechanicals. This is a game of mysticism and magic, adding mechanicals turns it into more like RL and takes away from the magical aspect. Think meteor versues cannon fire, which is more realistic over what is truly unbelievable.

I'd like to see a "homestead" become part of gw. A base of operations equipt with housing and storage options. Think Guild Halls with homes or rooms to rest (maybe even some design options) and store your goodies. Think about incorporating some of those town mechanics to aquire things to outfit your dwelling.

GW needs more meta game variables IMO. Think moral boost on a wider range of conditions. Perhaps GVG's that have some attibute point boosts under certain shire controlling or NPC's. Nothing MAJOR, just something that can turn the tides with some ingenuity other then just having that one overused shock warrior build. Flag running get's old after awhile. The PVP meta game really needs to be updated though, we are basically using the same maps in HoH that we used with release. And why do i have canthian NPC's in my vabbian GH?

None the less GW desperately needs to work on end-game content this time around for both PVE and PVP folks. How about an item, mod or option that plays your local MP3 music? In game voice options? Party webcams? I imagine the tech might be pretty high, but they would be uber cool options. How about just a way to know whos online in your alliance? Stupid lil thing that make the game experience a bit more rich and desired.

Think the latest speculated name is "Utopia". Realize that it's just speculation at this point.

I know what site that speculation came from. I also know that they believe this because the site url www.guildwarsutopia.com is taken, but didn't realize there's an in game guild by the same name. So it could just be a big coincidence.

Think they were going off the fact that both guildwarsnightfall.com and guildwarsutopia.com are both registered with dolster. Although unlike with nightfall, anet hasn't been shown to the the registar.

Something I'd like to see, huge nordic forests, with big mountains, lakes,
and lots of trees and snow, and only tiny small patches to walk on..
And evil dwarf-monkeys suddenly jumping down from the trees to attack you..

Well maybe not the last, but NORDIC NATURE FTW! And you could cap eagles as a pet

Nah this is how it should be

Opening: Its a Wroughtful time in 1042 AE (this was the guild wars right?)
blah blah blah
your in a clan, you name that clan...whatever lets say....Poo Poo town
you find out another Guild is opposing yours and you and your guilds alliances go in to attack...Only to find an ambush.....everyone in your guild dies but you, while you dive into the river and flow with current knocked out. Your taken in by another guild and have to take down this 1 guild...as soon as that happens...38 years pass 1080

Your in *insert name* your the Great grandson of *your name* and was named after your great grandfatha... turns out the guild your ggfather beat comes back and uses untapped raw power of the BLOODSTONEs to get revenge....they reap the land and BLah blah blah

I want Mounts...
I want Penguins
I want Pandas
And mostly I want a freaking Dance class that uses Dances, glyphs and Signets

This sounds very interesting to me. Anet sure has my vote to add this idea to Campaign 4. I would love to travel in snowy forests, across big mountains and through deep valleys.

What I'm more interested in is what element Chapter four is going to have to make you feel you have to have it.

Chapter 2 introduced Alliances and inherent conflict between guilds. You want to lead (as opposed to join) a guild as part of an alliance, you have to buy Factions.

Chapter 3 introduced Heroes. You want a much more customizable fighting force with great team build experimentation opportunities, you have to buy Nightfall.

Chapter 4 will introduce... What? What new game mechanic will Chapter four bring that will make you willingly shell out another 50 bucks?

Guild Wars doesn't have the luxury of WOW. Anet can't just raise the level cap, throw in some new high-end dungeons with ever-so-slightly-better gear and keep their player community happy. What makes WOW addictive is that there is always a way to improve your character. There is always better gear to be found, another level to climb, another tradecraft to improve. Guild Wars is the un-WOW in that you get max level and max gear relatively easily. Our game is about skill and creativity of builds. That makes GW a thinking man's game in a way that WOW just isn't.

But this means GW has a special challenge. Anet must retain what makes GW different from WOW (skill-based, max level and equipment no better than prior chapters), but they also need each chapter to offer something so compelling that everyone will run out and buy it. They can't improve old chapters too much or else people will stay put and their revenue will dry up. The new chapter has to make the old ones obsolete in some way.

The real question is, in what way will Chapter 4 make 1-3 obsolete?

One way is obvious - new skills. This is the one easy path Anet has and you can be sure there will be a whole raft of skills for each of the existing (and any new) classes. Hardcore PVPers (of which I am not) will need the next edition to remain competitive.

What PVE element will there be to bring the community along into Chapter 4?

That remains to be seen.

Anet has proven remarkably creative up to this point, but each success makes the next chapter that much harder to "top." They may wind up a victim of their own success or they may impress us all again.

I'll post my thoughts on what they can do to up the ante in a later post.
